Backup and Recovery Software delivers Physical and Virtual Environment Backup Management Optimization

Murrieta, CA -  Rectiphy Corporation is pleased to have released ActiveImage Protector 2.75 - a new sector-based backup and recovery software that delivers spot-on virtual environment backup optimization. Rectiphy’s first version was released in Japan by NetJapan Inc. in 2009 and was extensively tested in corporate environments before bringing the product to the U.S. in May 2010.

Redesigning many of its elements, Rectiphy’s AIP v. 2.7.5 adds two new features for supporting legacy servers: Hot imaging support for Windows and older-version support of the Windows PE 2005 recovery environment. These new features allow a wide range of backup, recovery and virtualization support for real-world server situations. Optimized for virtual environments, Rectiphy AIP uniquely can hot image a Microsoft Hyper-V host and all guest virtual machines and applications without shutting them down, then restore the entire system to the state they were in at the time of the backup.

As older servers are upgraded, it’s often the case that legacy applications do not run on the newer Operating Systems (OS) (for example, Windows Server 2008) so virtual environments hosting multiple guest OS (Windows Server 2003/2000 server, etc.) tend to proliferate. However, lurking issues haunt IT administrators when migrating legacy systems. IT administrators grapple with the older servers’ obsolete specs, lack of older device drivers on newer OSs, insufficient memory problems and scores of incompatibilities. Virtualization solves many of these issues but the problem remained of how to reliably backup virtual environments. Rectiphy ActiveImage Protector finally solves this problem.
