Rectiphy Releases New ActiveImage Protector 3.0 for Physical, Virtual and IT Support Environments
New features include ability to skip bad sectors, image consolidation & unification options, disk to disk copy and new Linux and virtualization enhancements
Murrieta, CA – Rectiphy Corporation has released ActiveImage ProtectorTM 3.0 (AIP) which adds major enhancements to its entire family of live data, sector based, backup and restore solutions for physical machines and virtual environments. AIP 3.0 includes powerful new features including Disk to Disk Copy, Bad Sector Skipping, the ability to restore image files to new virtual or physical locations and more. First released in North America in 2010, ActiveImage Protector was the first solution to include live data backups and the ability to restore individual Hyper-V VMs with patent-pending ReZoom technology.
According to Jamey Kirby, Founder and President of Rectiphy, “We are proud of ActiveImage Protector’s developers. Cost-effective AIP continues to set the bar for fast, affordable, live data backup and recovery solutions by continually incorporating advanced features that the market is looking for.”
New features and benefits in ActiveImage Protector 3.0: > ActiveImage Protector is the first backup solution to add support for uEFI mother boards / GPT (GUID partition tables) system and boot volumes.
> Bad Sector Skip is a function that intelligently continues to run backup processing even when unreadable or bad sectors are found. This allows users to back up suspect disks that may be about to die. By skipping the bad sectors users can then restore to a new healthy drive.
> Architecture Intelligent Restore (AIR) provides for the streamlined restore of images in virtual to virtual (V2V), virtual to physical (V2P) and physical to physical (P2P) environments.
> Disk to Disk Copy enables users to copy volumes and drives from one hard drive to another – even to dissimilar hardware.
> File Consolidation and Unification Management allows multiple incremental backups (Consolidation) or multiple incremental snap-shots along with the full base image (Unification) to be combined for long term data retention and reduced storage space.
> Throttling options enable users to adjust system resource usage priorities and bandwidth usage to assure AIP’s fast backups don’t interfere with other mission-critical processes.
> Dual Recovery Environments support the latest service devices and reduced memory usage for fast bare metal recovery (BMR) and disaster recovery (DR). Windows PE 3.1 and PE 2005
> Smart Sector Technology enhancements now enable the backup of Linux partitions (in Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 formats) from Windows. AIP Linux Edition now also supports hot imaging of a Linux server hard disk or volume.
