Rectiphy Releases New ActiveImage Protector for Hyper-V with ReZoom v3.0

New features include performance enhancements, new IO & network throttling settings, support for next-generation motherboards, along with image consolidation & unification options

Murrieta, CA – Rectiphy Corporation has released ActiveImage Protector for Hyper-V with ReZoom TM v3.0 (AIP) which adds major enhancements to its live data, sector based, backup and restore solutions for Microsoft’s popular virtual environment. AIP for Hyper-V v3.0 adds powerful new features including speed enhancements, resource usage adjustment options, and the ability to combine incremental and full backup images for long term data storage. First released in North America in 2010, ActiveImage Protector was the first solution to include live data backups and the ability to restore individual Hyper-V VMs with patent-pending ReZoom technology. With this release, AIP becomes the first solution to support the next-generation of uEFI motherboards and GUID partition tables which add massive storage capabilities.

According to Rectiphy Founder Jamey Kirby, “ActiveImage Protector was already considered among the fastest on the market. New ActiveImage Protector v3.0 sets the bar even higher with additional speed and performance enhancements including the ability to better take advantage of multi-core processors.”

New features and benefits in ActiveImage Protector 3.0:

> ActiveImage Protector is the first backup solution to add support for next generation uEFI motherboards and GPT (GUID partition tables) system and boot volumes which are replacing the current motherboard BIOS and MBR (master boot record) that PCs have used for decades and have a 2.2TB limit.

  > To help better meet compliance regulations, File Consolidation and Unification Management now allows multiple incremental backups (Consolidation) or multiple incremental snap-shots along with the full base image (Unification) to be combined for long term data retention and reduced storage space.

 > Throttling options enable users to adjust system resource usage priorities and bandwidth usage to assure AIP’s fast backups don’t interfere with other mission-critical processes.

> Bad Sector Skip is a function that intelligently continues to run backup processing even when unreadable or bad sectors are found. This allows users to back up suspect disks that may be about to die. By skipping the bad sectors, users can then restore at least the remaining good sectors to a new healthy drive.

> Architecture Intelligent Restore (AIR) provides for the streamlined restore of images in virtual to virtual (V2V) and virtual to physical (V2P) environments.

 > Disk to Disk Copy enables users to quickly copy volumes and drives from one hard drive to another – without additional steps.

 > Dual Recovery Environments support the latest service devices and reduced memory usage for fast bare metal recovery (BMR) and disaster recovery (DR). Windows PE 3.1 and PE 2005

 > Smart Sector Technology enhancements now enable the backup of Linux partitions (in Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 formats) from Windows.
